To Recount or not to Recount
Continuing the long standing tradition of passing resolutions under the cover of deep night,Venezuela's electoral authorities (CNE) informed the country that they had agreed to ''audit the remaining 46% of the votes'' cast during last Sunday's election. Whatever it means.
As with anything coming from this center of corruption, it was never made sufficiently clear, when the audit was supposed to start and, most important, the scope of the audits.
Again, we heard conflicting versions from Maduro's camp as well as from the MUD in the voice of Capriles.
One thing remains clear though, and it's the fact that the forces of democracy have finally put the CNE against the ropes and the pressure has made them and other pro-Maduro institutions to reconsider their initial negative to a full recount, which cannot be deemed other than as victory for Venezuela's progressive forces.
Hopefully In the next hours, we will be getting more specific details of the new chapter of this saga. Stay tuned.
